Tutt Street Studio News ~ July, 2022
Friends of the studio,
If you’re reading this, you previously subscribed to my 2019 Jacob On Purpose newsletter or the Tutt & Carroll studio news. Starting today, I am writing a monthly letter about the goings-on at the studio. So, instead of automatically posting all new work on social media, I’ll share it here.
And, maybe this goes without saying: I use a broad definition of work, including client projects (design, video, etc.), building improvements, West.SB stories and events, playlists, and collaborations with friends.
Client work has been quiet this month, but Chuck Fry, Ryan Blaske, and I released two new videos with the St. Joseph County Department of Health: Wash Wednesday and Safe Foods, Safe Pools. The Department can be a polarizing entity in the wake of the pandemic, yet I continue to be surprised by the staff who quietly do the meaningful work of keeping county residents safe.
With less client work, I am spending much of my time launching the second annual Studebaker Talks (after one week, 100+ people have their tickets!) and Kath Keur’s new publication Food Belt. She’s new to writing, so we published her first three articles on West.SB, and I’m helping edit the words and shoot the photographs. Starting my blog in 2016 became how I worked my way to a sense of purpose here in South Bend, so I love to see a friend join the game.
And in the loosely defined category, I created a second summer playlist, rehabbed our hallway and picnic table at Vested Interest, and invited people to one-on-one conversations at the studio.
Good times at Tutt Street. Until August,
Jacob
